Does Southern Donate to Charities?

Participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s ~ Southern Vacation Rentals

At Southern, we are proud participants of several local charities through our Southern Cares program. One of those charities is the Alzheimer’s Association, the largest global organization dedicated to finding a cure. Since more than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, funding research to developing a cure is crucial. Each year, we participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Fort Walton Beach with our local Central and North Florida Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

Our team, the Sweet Southern Walkers, works to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association in the days leading up to the event. However, due to COVID and new social distancing guidelines, this year’s walk has gone virtual. We’re still working hard to raise funds, but this year’s walk looks a little different than last year. In fact, this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s has gone virtual! Instead of a large in-person gathering, the Alzheimer’s Association is asking those wanting to participate to walk in small teams instead. By keeping groups limited to small groups of friends or your family, we can continue to keep health and safety as a priority.

The best part about a virtual walk is that it can happen anywhere. You can lace up and walk to end Alzheimer’s on your favorite trail, sidewalk, track, or even beach. The Walk to end Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Wherever you are, you can walk and help raise funds. Registration is free – the Alzheimer’s Association simply asks participants to raise funds to help advance their mission.
The Sweet Southern Walkers are walking to end Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 24th at 9:15 AM. We hope you will join us!
