We understand that now more than ever, there is a need for peace of mind with cleaning vacation rentals after COVID-19. That goes for guests and owners – we want to ensure everyone feels safe in our properties and are taking measured steps to do so. That’s why we’ve launched Southern’s Clean Initiative, an ongoing plan to ensure our properties are thoroughly sanitized after each guest departs.
The cleanliness of our properties has always been one of our strong points, and we will continue to see that through. That’s why, in addition to our standard cleans, we are utilizing glanHEALTH, a safe surface sanitation treatment, to effectively eliminate 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. This will become a part of our routine cleaning strategy after every departure, even after COVID-19. glanHEALTH is non-hazardous and non-toxic, providing protection against all organisms for up to 28 days.
When you joined our vacation rental management program, some of you may have opted in to our Clean Cover program. This meant that we would supply the beds in your property with our white microfiber coverlets, replacing your existing comforters or quilts. To ensure the promise of a safe stay, we will be requiring every property on our program to have Clean Coverlets. This allows us to have the bedding laundered according to professional-grade standards approved by the CDC.
In addition to this, we are moving away from our Southern-owned offsite laundry facility and partnering with Surfside Commercial Laundry to clean and sanitize all of our bed sheets, linens, and terry. They use environmentally-friendly products from EcoLab and have specs including wash temperatures set at 165 degrees, dryer temperatures between 120-180 degrees, and all flatwork subject to 212 degrees to remove any retained moisture. Their cross-contamination prevention strategy also follows all CDC guidelines.
