Southern Vacation Rentals Sponsors Pensacola Double Bridge Run
Local vacation rental company also held a contest for a free vacation on Pensacola Beach
For the eighth year in a row, Southern Vacation Rentals proudly sponsored the 2020 Pensacola Double Bridge Run. The race took place on Saturday, February 1st with over 4,000 participants in both the 15K and 5K races. The Double Bridge Run, a Pensacola Sports event, is hailed as one of the premier 15K races in the country and has been a staple in the Pensacola area since 1997.
The 15K race began early Saturday morning at Maritime Park in Downtown Pensacola, treating runners to a scenic view of the downtown scene and Pensacola Bay before making their way into Gulf Breeze and onto the beach. This year, those who participated in the 15K ran over the newly constructed Pensacola Bay Bridge; runners said that the new bridge proved to be challenging yet rewarding. 5K runners and walkers started their race in Gulf Breeze. All race participants made their way over the Santa Rosa Sound onto the Pensacola Beach Bridge. The Pensacola Double Bridge Run commenced at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk, where participants celebrated their achievements with post-race festivities.
In partnership with Pensacola Sports and the Double Bridge Run, Southern held a contest in which one lucky winner received a free two-night stay on Pensacola Beach. Southern Vacation Rentals is proud to manage a wide inventory of vacation homes and condos on Pensacola Beach, from large six-bedroom homes to condos at popular locations including Portofino, Emerald Isle, and Beach Club. The contest ran for three weeks and the winner was announced on Monday, February 3rd.
Southern ran the contest on their Facebook page, broadcasting the chance to win to an audience of over 43,000 followers with 4.5 million annual impressions. Southern’s active presence on social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest includes sharing vacation inspiration, coastal recipes, and beach activities to thousands of followers each day. Southern also invites guests staying with them to use the hashtag #MySweetSouthern on social media to share vacation highlights during their time at the beach.
“We’re proud to sponsor the Double Bridge Run and work closely with Pensacola Sports for this event,” said Tim Carn, Southern’s Regional Director over Pensacola Beach, Fort Walton Beach, and Navarre Beach. “We all live and work in the community and it’s great to see Pensacola Sports continue the yearly tradition with another successful run. We love seeing the locals as well as the out of town runners that come together to enjoy one of the many aspects of Pensacola. The area has a rich culture and we’re honored to be a part of it.”
